Product Films: Edloe Finch

Sometimes you can tell from the moment an email floats into your inbox that a collaboration is meant to be. Darryl and Jessica from Edloe Finch reached out with a request for product videos for their lovely sofa line. They knew exactly what they wanted and needed someone with a likeminded style to make it happen. Turns out we were the perfect match! I totally loved their vision along with their work ethic and communication. Let me tell you, these people are not only kind and personable, but extremely hard workers and know what they're doing when it comes to the furniture business.

When we met, Darryl knew all the stats: 64% of consumers are more likely to buy a product after watching a video, 90% of consumers say that watching a product video helps their purchasing decision, 1/3 of all time spent online is used watching videos, and list of numbers goes on. The thing that holds people back from creating product videos for their site is the initial investment, but with all the proven stats about how much video increases conversion rates, you could be losing a whole lot more without a video. Side note, I love when clients tell ME all the reasons why a video is important, it means they really understand and are invested in the process.

So when it came time to think about the type of product film they wanted to show off their beautiful furniture, we decided a mixture of product shots and lifestyle shots would encapsulate their brand perfectly. The product shots show the selling points, like the hardwood frames, velvet reversible cushions, or solid wood legs, while the lifestyle shots show the consumer how the sofa fits into their life. It's durable with kids jumping and playing around and cozy enough to curl up with a book. These sofas offer not only beautiful design, but they are built to fit into your lifestyle. And we show all that and more with this 50 second video.

I created 9 films for 9 different Edloe Finch pieces, and in the week after they posted the first film, they had already seen an increase in sales! After this project, I think product films may be some of my favorite films to create! Especially when I'm showing off beautiful products sold by passionate people. If you fall into this category and are interested in product films for your website or distributors' website, please reach out! I'd absolutely love to work on some more product films this year.
