Branded Film: The Vintage Round Top Workshops
This week I'm so excited to FINALLY share The Vintage Round Top Workshops film! This film is so near and dear to my heart because it's one of the first steps I took in starting my own film company! This has been a long time in the coming, and the experience of making this film has taught me so much about patience, timing, and the notion that all things happen for a reason.
I first met Paige and Smoot, owners of The Vintage Round Top, a little over a year ago when I first moved to Houston. Jordan and I were brand new to the city and knew no one. I was in need of work and didn't know exactly what I wanted to do. I interviewed with Paige and Smoot for a creative assistant position, telling them about my background in film and how I eventually wanted to pursue that. A week later, I found I didn't get the position, but they graciously affirmed my talents, encouraged me to continue in filmmaking, and told me to stay in touch since they would have some video needs in the future.
Fast forward a few months and I'm working at an office job, itching to get back into film. I reached out to Paige again, and it turned out they were planning this amazing workshop that they needed captured. I created a film about this inspiring workshop to help them promote future events like it. I also had the incredible opportunity to hear them speak about social media, along with Tiffany Mitchell of Offbeat + Inspired and Travis Weaver of Manready Mercantile. The experience made me realize that I wanted and needed to be doing film production again.
Fast forward a few more months to September, and I officially start Tripp Films. I really wanted to share this film that played a big part in starting my own film company, but I couldn't share it until it was time to market The Vintage Round Top's next event. If I'm honest, it really wasn't the right time for me to put it out either. I'm super proud of this film and I didn't want to waste an opportunity to share it while my audience was basically zero. In the meantime, I started to gain clients, build my brand, and created another video for them, Shopping the Round Top Antiques Fair with the Vintage Round Top.
A few months later, it's finally time to start marketing their Business, Branding & Social Media Workshop, which means it's time to share the video! This is now almost a full year since I originally shot it, and I can't believe I had enough patience to wait that long! I'm so proud and pumped to be able to put this one out into the world and it finally feels like the right time! I'm so grateful to Paige and Smoot for their sweet words and encouragement. They're a part of the journey that has brought me to where I am today.
