Tripp Films produces creative films that showcase your story.
I specialize in small businesses and creative brands, and I love getting to know each of my clients on a personal level to better understand your passion, style, and needs. From there, we create a customized plan for your film that tells your unique story in a visually engaging and artistic way.
ABOUT NIKKI TRIPP, OWNER & FILMMAKER
My film career began at the University of Texas in Austin. As an incoming geology major, I soon discovered that I didn't have the same passion for rocks as my classmates, but I absolutely loved my only non-major class -- The World History of Film. Fast forward two years later, and I was a film student who had created way too many videos documenting the silly, everyday adventures of my friends. I loved spending time with people and learning about them, no matter how "small" their story seemed. I had a natural gravitation toward people and their stories.
After graduating, I lived and worked in Austin as a freelancer and wedding videographer. I enjoyed work as a wedding videographer and learned a ton during this time, but weddings didn't set my soul on fire. My time in Austin was spent with many other creatives and passionate entrepreneurs, and I was inspired by their sense of purpose and ambition to accomplish their goals. I began to realize that these are the people I want to know, hang out with, and whose stories I want to tell.
In 2016, I moved to Houston with my husband, Jordan, and I started Tripp Films shortly after. Since then, not only have I been fulfilling my passion of telling stories of brands and the amazing people behind them, but I've also realized another passion of mine, which is owning my own business. Tripp Films has connected me with so many wonderful people that I wouldn't have met otherwise, and I look forward to meeting many more talented people along this journey. Check out my 2018 Wishlist for brands I'm looking to collaborate with this next year.
Jordan and I have enjoyed getting to know this city and the amazingly strong people who live here. We live in the Heights and most of our activities include eating or walking around our lovely neighborhood. Some of my favorite things include (in no particular order): chips and salsa, podcasts, Movie Mondays, coffee, cooking, exploring garage sales and flea markets, pie, plants and greenery, road trips, and donuts. I love meeting people in my community, so if you're interested in connecting, I'd love to grab a cup of coffee with you! You can reach out here.
